The Elder Statue is located at the top of Bao Lam, represented by simple, pristine sketches that are not too elaborate in detail. The color of the statue is treated in combination with natural light to create a reflective effect when sunlight hits, causing the work to change its color according to each moment of the day.
The statue is 9.9 meters high, facing east, in the direction of the rising sun. In the conception of the Co Tu people, the east-west axis is the axis of life and death, while the south-north axis is the eternal axis. The placement of the statue facing the sun not only creates a meaningful spatial axis, but also sends a message about the longevity and sustainability of the community.
This is a meaningful symbol of belief and spirituality, reflecting the rich spiritual life of the Co Tu people. The Elder Statue also expresses connection, where people send vows and wishes for a peaceful and prosperous life.
The statue of Old Co Tu village as a guardian of cultural memories, quietly turned towards the sun, where the beginning of life, hope and original values were inherited.
